Kinnikinnick Creek Conservation Area Interesting Information- The area was named an Illinois Nature Preserve in 1974. - There are alot some rare fish and plants in the area. - Location Rockford Size - acres TerrainThe creek is spring fed, and there is alot of forest and savanna area. Trails 3.5 miles Links Conservation District Site Further Insights I guess this area is one of the highest points in Boone County. Trust me though, its no mountain, its Illinois! There are four trails that are color coded and rated for difficulty, however I don't think any of them are too strenuous. None are real long. I haven't seen all of it. I think just walking along the stream would probably be very nice.
