Apple River Canyon State Park Interesting Information- The area was purchased by the DNR in 1932. - Many lead miners entered the area through the canyon here 1800's. - - Location Apple River Size 297 acres TerrainSeemed to be wooded with a large canyon by the river. Trails A few miles Links DNR Site Further Insights This was a nice little place. The canyon walls are really high and a nice change from the majority of flat Illinois. THe stream apparently is stocked with trout too.
