Moraine Hills State Park Interesting Information- Lake Defiance is a 48-acre glacial lake which is gradually filling in with peat. A chunk of ice from the receding Wisconsin glacier was left and melted to form the lakebed. - The park first opened in October 1976. - Location Near McHenry Size 1,690 acres TerrainAlot of wetlands and some wooded areas with a few lakes. There are some boardwalks that go out into the marsh as well. I haven't hiked most of the trails. Guess I don't have a whole lot to say about the place.
