Castle Rock State Park
Interesting
Information- Sauk and Fox Indian Tribes forced Illinois Indians west out of the area. They would later be forced out as well by colonists.
- The "Friends of our Native Landscape" group proposed the park in 1921 and bought some of it. It wasn't designated a state park until 1978.
- 71 acres of the park is dedicated as a nature preserve.

Information
Further Insights There is a very tall
sandstone bluff that overlooks the river with great views. A wooden staircase is there to access the area.
I haven't hiked all the trails, but the area looks to be very nice.
